TOSHIBA TEC Europe signs landmark EPOS order for the largest Shopping Centre on the Iberian Peninsula LISBON/MADRID, August 2009 – World-famous hospitality brands at Southern Europe’s largest shopping centre selected TOSHIBA TEC Europe EPOS systems for the new Dolce Vita Tejo Shopping Centre which recently opened in Lisbon. In a landmark contract for the company, TOSHIBA TEC EPOS systems are now installed at hospitality outlets of the 122,000 sq.m. Dolce Vita Tejo shopping centre through multi-year contracts with leading hospitality franchisee Ibersol and system integrator AE Consult. Ibersol SA owns and operates a network of multi-brand restaurants in Portugal and Spain. It operates restaurants with the brands Pizza Hut, KFC, Burger King, Pans & Company, Pizza Movil O Kilo, Bocatta, Pasta Cafe and Cafe So. Other hospitality outlets that signed TOSHIBA TEC include Ola, the ice cream makers, and chocolatier Hussel, both belonging to Jeronimo Martins, the retailers, as well as Portugalia, the local food specialists. Dolce Vita Tejo Shopping Centre, based on the outskirts of Lisbon is the largest shopping centre on the Iberian Peninsula. Dolce Vita Tejo has a catchment area of more than 2 million citizens and consists of approximately 122,000 sq m of retail and leisure space, which has been let for 99%. The retail centre features over 300 shops, 11 cinema screens with 2600 seats (UCI), a food-court of 30 restaurants, public space and parking space with a capacity of 9,000 cars. Hospitality outlets with Ibersol, AE Consult and Jeronimo Martins will operate a total of 23 combinations of TOSHIBA TEC’s ST-A10 TouchPOS with the versatile TRST-A10 ticket printer. TOSHIBA TEC’s Design Award-winning ST-A10 TouchPOS packs maximum connectivity, simplified cable management and an ultra-small footprint; Ultra-thin screen technology allows a picture-frame image for the cashier that includes well-lit screen edges for optimal use of the application. The TRST-A10 single sided thermal printer delivers a fast and smooth print out, and actively supports queue busting. Components can be cleaned, maintained and swapped without the need for any special tools. In this comprehensive contract TOSHIBA TEC will provide hardware maintenance, network installation and depot repair services for Ibersol’s and Compass Group’s POS systems in operation at Dolce Vita Tejo.
